Change OneDrvNew authentication token

Post by jefft »

Hi,

Thanks to a bit of 'helpful' auto-completion by my password manager, one of my OneDrive jobs now has an auth token for the wrong MS account. How can I remove that and re-authorise it for the correct account?

v9.48, Linux.

Hello,
in this case it's best to type a new ID into the field Account (opt.).

You can type anything you like, it's doesn't have to be an actual account ID.

Every new ID you type there will represent a separate connection.

You might also be interested in upgrading to Syncovery 10. Especially the Linux web GUI and Sharepoint support have been improved substantially.

I have the correct user account in the onedrive page of each of my OneDrvNew backup profiles. This one is still going to the wrong OneDrive account, though. How do I un-authorise it so that I can force it to use the correct account?

Also, what's substantially improved, or even different, about the v10 Linux GUI? Just upgraded to v10 Pro and my UI looks exactly like it did under 9.48, except the version number! I've tried Incognito mode, so it's not cached content... Am I missing something?

Hello,
apparently this "ID" is connected to the wrong account.

Even if you type the correct ID in Syncovery, that doesn't mean it's connected to the correct account.

The ID is just a random string without any meaning. So you can type one email address as an ID but actually connect it to a different account.

You can click the button "Forget Cloud Access Tokens" on the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet Cloud, to remove all connections. This will affect all of your profiles.

Yes the web GUI in Syncovery 10 looks the same, but there have been dozens of little improvements and fixes, which I am sure you will benefit from!

Oh, right. So the 'ID' is an attribute with no real purpose then. I'll try the forget tokens approach, thanks.

As for the UI, you said below, "Especially the Linux web GUI and Sharepoint support have been improved substantially." Why say that?

Okay, so I told it to forget the cloud credentials, it confirmed, I restarted the system to make sure, checked that my browser was logged out of OneDrive so it didn't try to authorise that account, then I ran one of the OneDrive jobs.

It's happily copying files. Without asking me for credentials or trying to re-authenticate. No idea which account they're going to, nor how it managed to log in after I told it to forget the tokens!

Is there a more effective way to make it forget?

Hi,
OK that's strange. I will need to check it.

A very easy way is to type something new in the field Account (opt.).

Like I said, just type anything there. It doesn't have a meaning. It's just a cloud connection slot name.

That account field didn't appear to make any difference to it. An idea - could it be used to check that the credentials are the right ones? That would soon stop this misbehaviour.
