Tobias, see attached.
I have several long garbled (on purpose) passwords, used for various profiles.
I want to CONFIRM those passwords, in my KeePass file, as it's been a long time since i set all this stuff up in the profile.
If i open the profile, and copy from keePass, my supposed encryption password, and paste it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD field, and select OK - if THAT window closes in an orderly fashion, is that verification of confirmation of the password; OR, if the password does NOT match, what will happen?

Hello,
yes, that's a good way to confirm the password!
If the password does not match, you will get an error dialog box when you click OK. You can try that on purpose.
If the password matches, the profile can be saved without error.

thanks very much. i'm trying to clean up my increasingly cluttered INI file, and just want to verify all teh passwords, to make sure i hae the correct ones !

that worked fantastic !!
first, so i did not screw up a profile, i did a "DUPLICATE", and appended trhe word "--TEST" to the new one (just so i did not xcrew up the original one.)
Then, went to encryption
then, went and got my list in KeePass.
then copied one of the "supposedly correct passwords",and pasted it into the CONFIRM field, and hit "OK".
IF it was NOT correct, then as you said you get an error message.
AND, for other users - if you paste the "supposedly correct password" and it is not the same length as the FIRST password box, then it is wrong, because the password field does reflect the actual length of the actual passowrd.
THEN, when you locate the correct password from your list and past it to the CONFIRM field, and hit OK, that dialog box closes, with no message, having matched the original password line and the confirming password line.
i then deleted the TEST profile
and then cleaned up the labeling in my KeePass list, to reflect the profile ( s ) that the passwords went to
