Bypass the error "Abusive file cannot be downloaded from Google Drive"

I'm using Syncovery 11.12.0.

Google Drive always scans user-uploaded files for viruses (privacy doesn't exist with Google), and it (almost always) fails with files larger than 25 MB or even when the Google virus scan server crashes, and those files, when downloaded, receive a warning that they couldn't be scanned for viruses or are even falsely marked as infected with a virus. For example: Wise Care 365.zip - This is a file I received from the "AOMEI 2025 Christmas & Happy New Year Carnival Giveaway" event not long ago.

With these files, I've tried many different syncing tools and they (including Syncovery) all failed to bypass this error and returned a download error (error code 403):

I hope Syncovery can add a feature to bypass this download error.

Hello,
unfortunately if Google disallows the download, no software in the world can bypass this.

The best you can hope for is that Syncovery could silently skip the file. Is that what you want?

Apologies for the delay.

It's not "skip" but "bypass".

Based on the logs, I guess Syncovery uses the API during downloads, right?

After consulting some of rclone's discussions on the forum and GitHub, I found that they say adding the acknowledgeAbuse parameter during syncing might help bypass this issue.

I haven't tested it yet because Syncovery currently doesn't allow custom parameter configuration. Hopefully, you (if you're a Syncovery developer) can test it, and if it works, please proceed with the update.

Oh!

Interesting. OK I will test it!

First have to find some malware though to test it with ... hmmm ...

rclone has supported this for a long time, easily enabled via the --drive-acknowledge-abuse flag; I hope Syncovery will add it soon as well.

You can try the Wise Care 365.zip file. It's a safe file; I got it from the official event page "AOMEI 2025 Christmas & Happy New Year Carnival Giveaway," but Google—for some reason—reported it as virus-infected. If it really is virus-infected, then perhaps AOMEI was trying to spread a virus during their event. :?:
