Syncovery adds garbage names for deleted files

Hello,

I have been using Sncovery to sync and back up my files on macOS and Windows for many years.

My normal process is to sync/move/mirror hard disks to hard disks. To ensure that no important files are lost, I use the ‘move deleted files’ settings in the sync window dialogue to move the deleted files to specific folders in case I want to retrieve them at a later date or delete them manually once I no longer need them.

Last few years I see that Syncover adds garbage/arbitrary names to these deleted files.

For example

Filename.x1uMJUUY.EXT
Filename.x1uMGtuK.EXT

How do I ensure that Syncovery retains the original file names without adding any garbage/arbitrary names to the deleted files?

This is the encoded deletion timestamp.

You can remove the checkbox ‚Remember deletion date and time‘.

But if you use the Restore Wizard to restore files, Syncovery will automatically decode the filenames.

Wonderful.

Thanks. I have never used syncovery to recover the deleted files. More often than not, the recovery is just manual.
