Profile names in Hebrew diaplay as giberish

Post by mekd »

Hi,
Syncovery 8/19 (64 bit)
Windows 10
It used to be just fine until last week when I had to re-install windows.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks

Hello,
did you mean version 8.19? Please try 8.70.

You may also be interested in ordering an upgrade to Syncovery 11, which is much improved! Read more about it here:

Here's an article with our latest developments, including the Syncovery 11 announcement:

And here's some news about the previous Syncovery versions 9 and 10:

Thank you for your answer.
I have tried version 8.70 with no change.
I don't mind upgrading אo the latest version if this version for sure will display Hebrew fonts.
BTW, the names of the folders do appear correctly although they are Hebrew. Only the profiles names are gibberish.

Hello,
we do not officially support non-English characters in profile names. It definitely cannot work on an English Windows system.

However, it tends to work if your whole system is Hebrew, especially the "Language for non-Unicode programs".

Maybe your new system is somehow different from the previous one?

Do you still have access to the Syncovery.ini configuration file from the old system? If so, we could compare the character encoding of the files. Maybe it can be fixed be copying the old INI file to the new system, completely replacing your current configuration.
