no, this is not it.

Sz is our own proprietary format. More detailed documentation will eventually follow, but right now the info page is this:

Thanks Tobias - I would use the SZ version if there was a freely available uncompressor. It sounds like a really good proprietary format.

yes I plan to release a free program called SZArchiver, but don't know when I can do it.

I know the feeling. I was just really inquisitive here. Syncovery is the best solution I have ever had the fortune of finding.
