I am backing up a file from my HDD to my Google Drive, and I'm encrypting it with the built-in ZIP-compatible encryptor. The file backs up successfully (and I am able to download it an unzip it manually, without Syncovery), BUT the encrypted filename gets extra characters added.

I encrypt Retirement.QDF, and I'd expect to see something like Retirement.ZIP, but I get Retirement.QDF.s42120869.ZIP. Why is ".s42120869" added, and how do I get rid of it? I'm afraid to rename the file manually because it might not match what's in the Syncovery database. Recommendations?

BTW, I love everything else about Syncovery. All my other backups have worked fine. My next task is to sync my music files to my phone via MTP.

Hello,
these numbers represent the original file size before encryption and compression. They are necessary so that Syncovery can be sure what's inside the zip file. They also serve to recognize Syncovery's own zip file where the content is known versus random other zip files.

It is highly recommended to accept these filenames as necessary.
