About bandwidth.

Hello. I'd like to limit the bandwidth 20MegaBytes/s.
I set the speed limit(Files>More) to 20 MBytes/s but when I checked the logs, the overall average transfer rate:44.0 MB/s.
How should I set it?

I'm using ver10.

Thankyou.

Hello,
it depends very much on the source and destination you are working with.

For example, some Internet Protocols such as S3 and Backblaze B2 are optimized with multi-threading, and the bandwidth limit is sometimes not very effective there. In that case, it may be necessary to reduce the number of threads. The easiest would be to set the number of files to copy in parallel to 1, on the Files tab sheet in the profile.

Thankyou for your reply.

This time I tried backing up to NAS in the local LAN. Just to make sure, if I want to set the limit to 20MBytes/s should I enter "20" as the value set in File>More(Bandwidth)?

Ultimately I would like to control bandwidth when backing up to box cloud so should I reduce the number of files to copy in parallel like backing up to S3?

Hello,
yes 20 is correct.

Uploading to Box uses only one thread per file, so it's less likely to use too much bandwidth. You can probably upload 3 files in parallel.
