Illegal Windows Characters when synchronizing files from my Android smartphone

Hello !

I try to backup several directories from my android phone to my PC.
Unfortunately some apps created files with characters considered as illegal for Windows (namely the semicolon) ":"

The bulk rename tools I have for windows ("Better file rename") do not work when i browse files my phone from my PC through the USB câble, so I would have to rename all the files manually one by one, and probably need to revert the rename afterwards to keep the files usable by the phone app..

I know that syncovery has so many options.. would there exist one allowing to replace automatically a characher into another given other one in files or directory names while synchronizing ??

I understand that it would alsi require a bit of cleverness the next time the program has to recognize previously synchronized files...

Thanks in advance

Best regards

LG

Have a nice end of year all of you
and congratulations for that constantly evolving nice piece of sowtware. I am now using it for years and have never been disappointed.

Hello,
yes, there's a PascalScript to "Convert Disallowed Characters on Windows" on this page:
https://www.syncovery.com/pascalscript/

The script is specified in the profile via the “Pascal Script…” checkmark on the Job settings category tab sheet.
