Hello team,
I just got a 5TB Seagate One Touch Password edition to add to my backup work flow.
I am using my 3TB WD as master /source to sync and backup to this 5TB one (right side) - I thought of using syncovery to initialise the backup as it has multi thread copying hence faster than conventional windows copy.
Also, I own a valid license for the Syncovery 10 pro version.
But while creating the profile, I get this error (refer screenshot) and I am not able to complete setting up a profile, I continuously end up getting errors.
(I am using the device tab for selecting the WD and Seagate drives)
I also opened the log and it says this "Cannot access ext://One Touch w/PW-One Touch".
To add I DON'T HAVE ANY ENCRYPTION or security setup on three seagate drive (checked via the software).
Verbose version -
10-12-2025 22:11:23 ERROR (EPrepException): Cannot access ext://One Touch w/PW-One Touch
(Device One Touch w Not Found at 00000000020B4563) @ 00000000029CA990, Thread ID: 18112, CP: MakeTrREX (CreateRightTrav)
I tried to upgrade to the 11 evaluation version to test as well. Sadly facing the same issues.
Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on? My guess is somehow the controller of this Ext. HDD is having an ID whoch is messing up the way Syncovery maintains / reads MTP names internally..
Any Thoughts or things I could try?
Thanks
Chetan

Re: Profile Issue with Syncovery HDD sync (Left to Right) using Seagate One Touch
Hello,
please avoide the Device button in Syncovery to access hard drives. The Device button is only for smartphones, tablets and cameras.
Please make the path field completely empty and use the Browse button to find your drive.
You can also just type a path with a drive letter, such as E:\Backup.
Finally, if you think that the drive letter might change, you can type the volume label instead, such as:
PW-One Touch:\Backup
You can check the volume label in Windows File Explorer.
