Possble to download from a Dropbox public link
Is it possible to download from a Dropbox public link? Everything appears to be working.. no errors but attended shows nothing to be copied.
Re: Possible to download from a Dropbox public link
Hello,
I don't think this can work. You need to add the folder to your own DropBox.
Maybe I can make it possible in a future version.

That is what I wound up having to do. Dropbox catch-22.
If someone shares files with you that counts against YOUR file limit. They can share a link that you can download, but then you can run into the folder exceeding the download size limit requiring individual file download and much pain.
If syncovery could get those files from the link directly that would be a great help.

Hello,
OK maybe I can make it possible.
What kind of a link is it? Is it a shared folder? And you want to download all files individually? Not the whole folder zipped?
Like this one?
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h54dediazbqz ... 8KcJa?dl=0
If I change it to dl=1 at the end, it will download the whole folder zipped:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h54dediazbqz ... 8KcJa?dl=1
Syncovery doesn't see the individual files because their names and URLs are inside of JavaScript, which Syncovery doesn't analyze.
But I think I can just make Syncovery look for HTTP URLs everywhere, including the JavaScript.

It is like your example. But if it could get them individually that would be best. There are limits to how big a zip dropbox will make/download.

Re: Possble to download from a Dropbox public link
Hello,
I have now released Syncovery 9.45m, with the capability of downloading from DropBox public links.
The feature is pretty fresh and will be improved further. I have not tested it for a shared folder with subfolders.
To make it work, you need to remove the ?dl=0 from the end of the URL, like this:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h54dediazbqz ... DDNJU8KcJa
And then click the Internet button and choose the HTTP protocol rather than WebDAV, which might be automatically chosen.
I believe it works only for truly public links, not if a DropBox login is needed.

Re: Possble to download from a Dropbox public link
There will be a much improved version for this feature on Friday.
But it works only with completely public links, not if the link it restricted to specific persons that have to sign up and log in.
Is that OK for you?

The new version 9.46 now completes this feature.
You no longer need to remove ?dl=0 and you don't need to click the Internet button, just paste the URL in one of the base path edit fields.
