Synology Drive + Syncovery

Post by mareike1988 »

Hi,

I have not yet bought a synology NAS.

I plan to use Synology Drive and make use of the Synology-Drive-Versioning functioning.

Is Synocovery able to backup
- the whole Synology-Drive including all incremental changes?
- the most current synology-drive state of files
?

Thanks.

I don't know Synology Drive.

But I assume that if you run Syncovery on Windows, it can only see the current state of files like Windows Explorer.

If you run it on Linux, it should be able to access the raw file system data including versioned files etc.

But it maybe be better to avoid accessing raw internal data, and instead let Syncovery copy the normal drive like a user would see it. And then you can either use Syncovery's own versioning - or if you copy to a cloud service, use that service's native versioning (if any).
