New user - how to use Synology package?

Post by troelsh »

Just installed the Synology package manually and set up the permissions as per Syncovery instructions.

I am mystified as to how to access or use the package. Can't find any instructions. I saw a reference to webui in one of the forum posts but no idea how to access it. The FAQ has no info.

Help please!

Hello,
you can access the Syncovery web GUI via port 8999.

Syncovery also appears in the Synology's DSM GUI in the main menu. Click the button in the top left corner, and there you will see all your apps.

The first Syncovery page you will probably see is about configuring SSL, but if you work in a LAN, you can just click the link at the bottom that adds ?nossl=1 to the URL.

Then you will see the Syncovery login, where you can log in with the initial user name "default" and the initial password "pass".

Thanks for this. The package installed and was already marked as running - just had no idea how to access it.

As you say though, clicking on the icon brought up the dialog. all good now.

For anyone else looking, I've now found access and login info on this page:

https://www.syncovery.com/download/linux/

Not exactly an intuitive URL/page title for Synology NAS users but it's got the info :)
