Hi,

It connects to the GCS to read buckets, but data is not uploaded when running a profile -it just keeps on retrying.

Thanks.

Hello,
I think you need to update Syncovery and possibly re-authorize it by changing the optional "Account" field on the Internet Protocol Settings dialog, or by clicking "Forget Cloud Access Tokens" on the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet "Cloud". There was a version some time last year that didn't request sufficient authorization to perform renames, which might affect uploads too.

If problems remain, please send a log file to support@syncovery.com.

Hello Tobias,

Thank you for your amazingly fast fix to solve this issue related with compressing a bunch of files in a zip folder before uploading to GCS.
I have updated Syncovery to v9.33c and it works perfect. Is it possible with Syncovery to set up a password when opening the ZIP?

Just one last question. The table comparing the different features of the program shows at the bottom that there is a Web GUI, how can it be ran?

Regards,

Hello,
the zip format does not have any feature to prevent opening it. You can always look at the file names without a password. But to extract, you will need the password. If you need to hide the filenames, you would need to use Filename Encryption. The encryption settings are on a separate tab sheet, next to the compression settings.

The web GUI can be activated in the Windows version of Syncovery by going to the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet "Cloud".

Thank you Tobias.

Is there any advantage on using the Web GUI compared to the regular desktop console and vice versa?

Hello,
the web GUI is not as complete and user friendly as the desktop GUI. The only advantage is that you could open it to the LAN and access it from another machine.

Hello,
I wanted to add some information to this thread.

Since 2024, Syncovery now uses a new method to connect to Google Cloud Storage. It can be authorized with a service acccount.
