proflle name, any way to FORCE inclusion of group name?

Post by Contractor5Prepays9 »

prior versions -
made group by using the titles of proflies.

group-a this-is-a-profile
group-a this-is-profile-b

these would get sorted, as
Group-a
this-is-a-profile
this-is-profile-b

now, you have the GROUP function, which is GOOD

BUT, is there a way so that if i create a proflle under a group
example

this-is-a-profile-drive-d
under group-a

to have it CREATE thename as
group-a this-is-a-profile-drive-d

because if i create same profile, for a different drive, and the name stays as
this-is-a-profile-drive-d

it tells me that the SECOND iteration of this is a duplicate.

BUT, if it is prefixed by

group-a this-is-a-profile-drive-d
and
group-b this-is-a-profile-drive-d,
they exist as two separete profiles.

and this is what i need, because the two different profiles relate to two separate machines (main and emergency)

currently, i have to COPY the group name, fro the GROUP list, since it can't be copied inside the profile itself, and then paste to the front of the profile name.

thanks
nick

any ideas, from anyone?
as an alternative, can an INI file (profiles are protected by a password) be edited, to change these strings, then re-saved, and the passwords or any other encryption references will still work ok?
i'm hesitant to edit INI files due to that

Hello,
thanks for the idea, but the GUI is not made like that. You need to manually type or paste the group name at the front of the profile name. When you do that, you don't even have to select the group because it is chosen automatically.

Please don't edit any of the INI files, it will surely break something.

thanks, and no problem !
i can work within any of the program structure guidelines, just want to see if other options are there.
no problem if not.

ALSO, regarding the groups, and multiple destinations - THESE ARE GREAT !
i'm streamlining my profiles with these, makes it much cleaner !
