Right side ftp polling, good or bad ?

Post by Knarf »

Hello,

Currently I access a remote ftp server by connecting to it every 2 minutes to see if there are new files available for download.
1. Is there a better way to do this ?

I often get this error:
(Wrong socket state 4 in AsyncConnect at 000000000121AA1F)
2. Is that a remote server issue ?

I often have packet loss on my ping monitor. This is what I've been using since the above problem started.
It could very well be that the route to the remote server (in USA) is worse then before. More unreliable hops in between...

Hello,
it should be totally fine, FTP servers can only be polled. Unless Syncovery is downloading a huge file listing every time, the load for both the server and the Internet in general is minimal. How large is the listing, in terms of the number of folders and files?

Socket errors are probably related to package loss or other communication problems. Syncovery just logs everything, even if retries are successful.

However feel free to send a log file to support@syncovery.com for further analysis.
