V8 Scheduler problems since 8.67c or 8.67d

Post by EthanH »

The scheduler stopped working reliably with either v8.67e or 8.67d. (Still works with 8.67c). The symptoms are that recurring scheduled jobs have a Next Run time in the past or, for real-time sync jobs, at the (greyed-out) time and date in the "Specify Next Run" boxes.

This error occurs on Win 10 Pro and Enterprise versions 1909 and 2004. In some cases, the scheduler can be stopped and restarted, in others the scheduler (either background or service) refuses to start. I see no entries in any Windows logs when this happens.

Hello,
there haven't been any changes related to the scheduler between these versions. I think it's probably a different problem that just happened to occur now. Usually such problems can be fixed with a reboot. Also make sure you have chosen "Start profiles in parallel (in separate process)" via the Tools and Settings button on the Scheduler tab sheet.

Did you go back to 8.67c after problems occurred, and did they really go away?

Can you try 8.68?

The problem appears on most computers where Syncovery was installed. Rolling back to 8.67c restores functionality.

Version 9 has no such problems. I will test 8.68b over the next several days.

Hello,
OK, in the meantime I have released v8.68c with one more bug fix. Let me know if it works for you.
