Masks, vs Configure;Selected

Post by Contractor5Prepays9 »

question
file selection, MASKS, INCLUSION - if there is a file / list here, WHAT takes precedence - THIS, OR the SELECTED files in the CONFIGURE:SELECTED (versus ALL) option?
or does the selection get merged with the masks?

and does EXCLUSIONS override the configure:selected (or ALL)?

thanks
nick

Hello,
for an item to be included, both are required:
a) the (sub)folder must be in the subfolder selections
b) the file name must match the Inclusion Masks

Exclusions override Inclusions.

so, to clarify, i have a text file,

00aa_C_Drive_Include_101.txt
\PortApps\
\Users\user01\Data_CURRENT\
\Users\user01\Desktop\
\Users\user01\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\
\Users\user01\PortApps\
\Users\user01\Documents\Web Easy\

but then i hvae the INI configuratin set as SELECTED, and selected subfolders in the list, and the MASK to INCLUDE the text file (preceded by a "+".)

if the items are supposed to be in BOTH the mask sectin, AND the selection, could i just set the SELECTION as ALL, and let the MASK file define the subset of ALL, that i want to copy? (ALL might have items that i don't want, but MASK TEXT file would have the subset of ALL )

the ADVANTAGE of the MASK TEXT folder is that i can use that for some multiple INI definitions, easier than going into SELECTION to click/unclick, if i change folder structure
thanks

Hello,
inthis case, please don't combine a subfolder selection with an external text file containing folders.

Subfolders should be "All" and the text file should contain all selections.

If the reference to the text file starts with :+ then any exsting subfolder selection in the profile is being ignored.
