Option to keep last x compressed files backups

Post by The RedBurn »

The Compress/Encrypt option allows to "Use ZIP Packages".
However, when the profile is run the next time, Syncovery wants to delete the previous ZIP files.
An option to keep the ZIP files from the last x profile runs would be useful to keep one or more versions backups.

Hello,
on the Compressed Packages dialog, there's an option to add the time to the name, so previous backups won't be deleted.

But there is no automatic clean-up of older packages yet.

"Put current timestamp in ZIP file name" is enabled, but nevertheless Syncovery wants to remove previous backup files.
Is it because the Sync Operation Mode is "Exact Mirror" instead of "Standard Copying"?

Hello,
yes probably. I think you should use Standard Copying.

Please note that using compressed packages with multiple files per package is not the native sync mode for Syncovery.

In most cases, I recommend using "Compress Each File Individually" so that Syncovery can see what's already on the destination and only copy new or modified files. Then you can use all the settings under Versioning to keep multiple versions.
