Hello,
the only advantage is not needing temporary files. If temporary files aren't a problem for you, you can surely use 7-zip.

Re: unable to use ultra compression level

Delphi. There's no JavaScript in Delphi, I think. Syncovery is not a web browser. Don't want to add unnecessary external dependencies either. Pascal is just the native choice.

Re: unable to use ultra compression level

Interesting, I'll fix it in 10.1.9 this weekend.

Re: automatically including new sub folders but not root level and generating a text list/report of what will be done

Hi, yes I am the main developer of Syncovery. I think that some browsers might be able to handle "All 162697". If you don't need to see the proposed actions and just want a complete file list, then you can also use another HTML export feature, which is on the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet Logs:...

Re: automatically including new sub folders but not root level and generating a text list/report of what will be done

Hi, I think you should work on NOT having any files that have the same name as folders. Files should always have a filename extension. Folders should not. That makes it a non-issue. But here's an example with more names. I don't think it slows Syncovery down a lot. function OnIncludeItem(const FileN...

Re: automatically including new sub folders but not root level and generating a text list/report of what will be done

Hi, in that case, the selection must be done via a PascalScript, which you can add to the profile on the "Job" tab sheet. So don't use the Exclusion Masks, but use this: function OnIncludeItem(const FileName, RelativePath: UnicodeString; const isRightSide, isFolder:Boolean; const FileSize:Int64; con...

Re: Can I put older and deleted files in the same backup folder but add deleted string to deleted files?

Hello, the encoded deletion timestamp is very short and not human readable because all available characters are used (numbers and letters). For example: test.x1oyVl58.pdf Yes, you can restore only the files that were deleted on one day. To do that, choose "Restore file versions from an earlier date ...

Re: How does Syncovery compare left and right files if you use compression and encryption?

Hello, 1234 is the size in Bytes. For larger files, this string will be longer ;=) When building the list of files to copy, Syncovery does not look at the file contents by default, only the metadata: file names, timestamps, and file sizes. Hashes would mean looking at the file content, which is norm...

Hello, 1) To get an exportable list of the Sync Preview, you can run the profile by right-clicking it and choosing "Run in Background With Preview". When the preview is ready, please right-click the profile and choose "Show Detailed Progress or Results in Browser". This will open the Sync Preview in...

Re: Can I put older and deleted files in the same backup folder but add deleted string to deleted files?

I wouldn't recommend it. The Restore Wizard is able to pick the correct versions from the versioning folder, and deleted files from the folder for deleted files. Filenames for deleted files are encoded with an extra tag the represents the time the deletion was detected, so that when Restoring, Synco...
