Creating Volume Shadow?

I'm running Syncovery 10.13.0 (haven't checked for updates in 15 minutes so may not be latest) and it displays "Creating Volume Shadow For..." even while it copies many GB of data from source to destination. Should it be displaying this message while the copy is going on? Edit: Finally, after about ...

Re: General (and probably crazy) questions on backing up to Google Drive

I would think that even if .SZ compression is "None" it will be pretty CPU- and maybe memory-intensive to process such large files. I think I will simply begin encrypting the backup images as they are created. Thanks.

Re: General (and probably crazy) questions on backing up to Google Drive

Thank you for the quick response and the answers. And just to note, the reason I thought "Standard Copying" could do deletions was due to this statement in the help file (i.e. the "except" portion): Standard Copying Standard copying will compare the files and folders present on each side, using the ...

General (and probably crazy) questions on backing up to Google Drive

1) Which general approach would be recommended to back up a drive containing documents and system images to Google Drive? Deletions are required in my use case, in order to avoid having a mess on Google Drive and also to avoid running out of space there. So, is there a practical difference between "...

Re: Syncovery 10 for Windows has been released

I bought the upgrade because I appreciate the idea of allowing multiple destinations. Thank you for adding this. I do have some feedback: 1. The main window gives no indication that additional destinations are configured. It would be a better UX if the application showed all the destinations somehow...

Re: Upgraded to Syncovery 10, lost all of my settings and profiles

LOL, OK. I had already decided to use an .INI file in %AppData%\Syncovery instead. BTW, Syncovery uses %AppData% by default (if "each user's 'Application Data' folder' is chosen), which I am sorry to say, is not ideal or expected. It should use %AppData%\Syncovery, and not store its files in the \Ro...

Re: Upgraded to Syncovery 10, lost all of my settings and profiles

I think I've managed to get back to where I was. But I want to store my settings in the registry. How can I do that without recreating all of my profiles and settings? Edit: I guess that I simply have to reconfigure everything manually, but can export and then import the profiles? Can I just say tha...

Upgraded to Syncovery 10, lost all of my settings and profiles

I purchased and installed the Syncovery 10 upgrade. Everything was fine until I went into settings and selected "Registry (user-specific)" for "Store Preferences And Profiles In". I was prompted to back up my settings, and accepted the offer. I was prompted to enter a password, but since I don't car...

Re: Confused over how to exclude (system) folders

I guess the problem was that I had "Remove Deselected Subfolders And Files From Destination" selected. Turning that option off seems to have resolved the problem. This is still confusing to me, because $Recycle.Bin and "System Volume Information" were never "deselected"; they were excluded by mask (...

Confused over how to exclude (system) folders

I'm simply trying to mirror one SSD to another, straight from the root directory. But whenever I run the profile, Syncovery 9.48n wants to sync $Recycle.Bin and "System Volume Information". I have both $Recycle.Bin and "System Volume Information" excluded in the profile (and also in Global Exclusion...
