Re: Can I share encrypted backup files with others?

But to share it the other person needs the password and the decrytion tool.
Of course. Surely you have heard of passworded PDFs. This request is no different. It's just a matter of key exchange.

Managing this fine with other apps. Thank you.

Re: Can I share encrypted backup files with others?

The purpose of the encryption is the opposite of sharing.
The purpose of encryption is to prevent access from snoopy cloud service providers and those who would take advantage of vulnerabilities within the cloud service. Nothing more. I choose with whom to share my content. Thanks anyway.

Can I share encrypted backup files with others?

I back up a directory of personal files to Backblaze B2. Files and filenames are encrypted. Is it possible to provide a link to a specific file on the backup to my friend, so that it may be downloaded (self-decrypted) without passing along the password I use for backing up directory?

Thank you!

I already reduced the settings so everything looks good now. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks!

Password rejected - Couldn't open Syncovery

Running the Synology application, and my login credentials would not authenticate today. Stopped and restarted the package without success.

Manually installed the latest 9.48n and the credentials were accepted.

I never saw this before. Any idea what happened? Is there a "simple" fix, as I think I ...

Re: Synology to Synology copy task fails to connect

As I've dug deeper on this, I am thinking this is a network card issue. It is reporting that its "partner" (my router?) is declaring only 100Mbps (half-duplex). I suspect that the NAS Ethernet card is failing to "handshake" with the router, and then drops to the lowest connection possible.

If I can ...

Re: Synology to Synology copy task fails to connect

I'm not keen on the mount (this is a backup copy with versioning).

That said, after switching the mount from CIFS to NFS, the transfer rate hasn't improved.

Re: Synology to Synology copy task fails to connect

In the meantime, I mounted NAS B to NAS A for a simple copy... but I'm getting only 8MB/s on a 1GB circuit.

Hoping there is a solution.
